Why is Paying for a Link to Bidding Web Directory Useful?

In submitting your website to web directories, people always say, "Why pay if you can get list yours for free?"

I'm not against free directories - in fact, I submitted mine to lots of free directories. However, I also submit mine to paid directories - including bidding web directory.

What is the purpose of a directory?

The purpose of a directory is to be an advertising media of link submitters. Visitors of a directory will see your link and, for those who interested in your site, will follow where the link will lead.

It is also purposed to strengthen the website submitted - in term of SEO (search engine optimisation) - link building, link popularity, back linking, etc. with a main goal - better Google PageRank and better placement in SERPs (search engine result pages).

When I say a website strength, what I mean is the measurement combo of back links quality and number, PageRank, SEO effort, position in SERPs, the number of pages indexed by search engines, and other things that are also important in enhancing your site's exposure in the Internet.

What paid directories are good for

You know, money talks - there are certain perks that a paid directory have that a free directory don't. Paid directories use money to promote themselves. Although I know that some free directories also invest some funds into promotion, in the end, only the strong financed free directories survived.

This is not the case of paid directories - they receive funds from link submitters. While most enjoy good money out of this, some even reinvest all of the money they receive to fund their directories' promotional and marketing campaigns.

What kind of promotional and marketing campaigns that paid directories use

Most paid directories purchase links in other directories and sites. Although most marketing tactics involve free services, some of the most effective tactics require you to invest an amount of money in return to high quality results.

Why purchasing links important?

Link submitters rely to paid directories in helping them in their advertising and SEO efforts. This being said, it's paid directories' job to ensure the quality and strength of themselves. This can be achieved through acquiring quality back links - which most of them can be obtained by paying a one-time fee or a time-limited linking - usually paid in monthly or yearly fashion.

The ultimate goal is to retain or improve their PageRanks, page strength, and the number of incoming traffics.

What a bidding web directory is, and in what way it is different from other paid directories

A bid directory is a directory where you can submit your link for an amount of money you are willing to put bid in. If your bid is high enough, your link can be placed in the home page of the bid directory. This being said, you can bid a certain minimum amount of money to be listed in the directory - you can still enjoy the quality back link and advertising from the bid directory.

However, bidding for a placement in the homepage (usually a Top 10 list of highest bidders) will give you a stronger back link and advertising campaign, because both visitors and search engines love the first page of a website.

Moreover, if you bid for the top - to be the highest bidder of all, you can get featured as the highest bidder - with a perk - you get another, free of charge, quality back link and publication from the bid directories - usually placed on top or top-right section of the page, and will be displayed site wide.

So, place your link in a bidding web directory and bid for position for better exposure and strength of your website.
